We sat down with Hannah and Caroline to chat all things beauty, so if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting them yet, keep reading!
Hannah
What is your professional background?
I am a Registered Nurse and Cosmetic Injector and I'm also completing a Masters in Orthopaedic Nursing. I completed my cosmetic injecting training with Esteem by Dr Terrance Scamp on the Gold Coast and have had many amazing opportunities to advance my learning alongside some of Sydney's best cosmetic doctors and nurses.
How did you get into the cosmetic aesthetics industry?
By complete accident! I was on a hunt to get anti-wrinkle treatments for myself and was setting up cosmetic nurses to work in my mums medical practice. After a few years I thought, "I better actually go and learn what nurses have to do!"
How would you describe your approach to injecting?
Less is more. I’m very realistic and I like to under promise and over deliver. There is nothing worse than pretending you can achieve an unrealistic result for someone. I also like to Google the infamous catwoman in front of my patients to show them that they won’t walk out looking like her!
What do you love about working at Blanc?
It’s so much fun I don’t even feel like I’m working. We all have the same sense of humour so I spend a lot of the time laughing. I moved to Perth not knowing anyone so it’s really nice that it’s filled my social life void so I don’t get homesick when I have all the team here it feels like I’m hanging with my friends.
What are your daily beauty non-negotiables?
I have a set of makeup in my car, my bag, my drawers, at work. Just in case I need to go from drab to fab!
Outside work, what do you love doing?
I am pretty active, I have been rock climbing for a few years now as it’s incredibly peaceful and a way to escape and chill the mind out. I climbed the worlds tallest climbing wall in the Netherlands 2 years ago.
Caroline
What is your professional background?
I have been a Registered Nurse for the past 13 years and began my career in aesthetics as a Nurse Injector in 2011.
How did you get into the cosmetic aesthetics industry?
I had been working on a busy surgical ward for a few years, which I enjoyed but I was looking to specialise in another area of nursing and skin health/aesthetics had always been of interest to me. I undertook a Post Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Nursing to increase my baseline knowledge in the area and shortly after I completed the course, I was offered a full time nurse injector role where I underwent more practical training. I never thought nursing would have taken me to where it has today, but it’s been an incredible journey so far and one that still excites me for the future.
How would you describe your approach to injecting?
My approach to injecting has always been about creating natural results, whether that be for preventative, restorative or beautification purposes. I place a huge emphasis on building trust with my patients and I believe that listening to their facial concerns, providing them with education and honest guidance is key to forming that relationship. I want my patients to feel comfortable, well informed and safe in my hands. I think it is so important to look holistically at skin and ageing. Balancing facial proportions is key to natural looking results and understanding that glowing skin cannot be achieved with a needle alone. Good skincare, in-clinic dermal therapies and nutrition all play a supportive role to optimise skin health.
What do you love about working at Blanc?
What's not to love?! I love that I get to work and learn from a group of amazing like-minded women who pride themselves on delivering a high standard of care and service and who are willing to share their knowledge. I also love the attention to detail in every corner of the clinic - stunning floral arrangements, the fresh scent of the candles, warm lighting, soft furnishings, relaxing music, the list goes on! It's like a little self-care haven tucked away from all the worries of the world.
What are your daily beauty non-negotiables?
I can't live with out my Medik8 skincare! My go-to products are the Surface Radiance Cleanse and Liquid Peptides, I am never without them and love that we stock and recommend them here at Blanc. I'm also never far away from my Mesoestetic Melan 130 Pigment Control SPF 50+, a sunscreen and tinted moisturiser in one. I can't believe I only discovered this recently! An absolute non-negotiable- rain, hail or shine!
I've also been using The Secret Cellular Repair Night Cream for the last few months now and can honestly say it has been a game changer for my skin! My pore size has significantly reduced and the clarity and texture is so much brighter and smoother.
My scent at the moment is Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Margiela. Its so fresh and clean with a hint of floral, perfect for everyday!
Outside work, what do you love doing?
As a family of two young energetic children (1 year old and almost 4 year old), we don't sit still at home for long. You can usually find us out and about, looking for new parks and good coffee or down at the beach in summer. We love getting away down south for long weekends or heading up to the hills for a Sunday drive
I love baking and I'm often the designated dessert maker at family events and Christmas
My exercise of choice these days is Reformer Pilates and Barre classes which have been so good for improving my core strength post babies and I love the energy it gives me for the rest of the day. A long walk outdoors by myself with a podcast is also bliss!
